You would think that this time of year these guys would be breaking out the old family recipes. I bet they are. It is just a matter of getting them to share the wealth

Venison Stroganoff with morels!!! MMMMMMMMMMM!!
In a large pot, boil water and cook a 1 lb bag of egg noodles until done al dente. Slice one venison t-loin and 1 large sweet onion into short, thin strips. In a large frying pan, saute the venison and onion in butter until onions are translucent. Add a 28 or 32 oz jar of rich brown gravy, a handful of sliced fresh or rehydrated morels and 1 pint of sour cream. Stir and cook on medium until it begins to bubble. Add salt/pepper to taste. Serve the venison mixture over the drained egg noodles and devour it!! Add some good dark bread to sop up the extra gravy mixture and you're in heaven!! Enjoy.

Gotta love those morels!! I know a few other wild edible shrooms, but would like some "expert" experienced help identifying others on the property. Anyone that is familiar with mushroom ID is always welcome to come up and foray with us. This is an open invitation to all members of this forum. Membership has it's privileges.

Last year, my right property line was littered with morels. Then my neighbor decided to cut an access road up the property line and removed some tree and brush cover. This year I found one.
